Consultation

What half an hour with a doctor gives you

In brief

A consultation is not a formality preceding the treatment; it is the treatment of the decision. In half an hour we discuss what bothers you, what is anatomically going on, what is realistically achievable, which risks are involved and what it costs. In a proportion of cases the outcome is to do nothing for now.

What happens in that half hour

  • Your story. What bothers you, since when, and what you hope will change.
  • Assessment. We look at your face at rest and in movement, and assess muscle strength, symmetry and the position of your eyebrows.
  • Medical intake. Health, medication, previous treatments, allergies.
  • Advice. What is possible, what is not, which areas, which dose and what you may expect.
  • Risks and costs. In plain language, with room for questions.

Why not treating is also an outcome

Sometimes the complaint cannot be solved with this treatment. Sometimes the timing is wrong. Sometimes the expectation exceeds what is achievable, and then treating guarantees disappointment.

A doctor who says so is not selling you anything. In the moment that may feel like a missed opportunity, but it is exactly what you are paying a doctor for rather than a salesperson.

How to prepare

Come with clean skin, without make-up on the areas in question, so that we can assess properly. Bring a list of the medicines you take, including supplements.

Think beforehand about one question: what do I want to change? The more concretely you can answer that, the better the advice you will get.

If you have been treated elsewhere, ask for your record details. Product, dose and date are enough.

What it costs and why

A consultation costs € 75 and is deducted if you book a treatment afterwards. We deliberately charge something rather than nothing. In this field a free consultation is often a sales conversation, and that is not what we want to be. You are paying for a doctor's judgement, including when that judgement is no.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to decide straight after the consultation?

No. You can always think it over and book later. There is no offer that expires.

Is the consultation deducted?

Yes. If you book a treatment after the consultation, we deduct the amount from the treatment price.

Do I get the consultation fee back if you decide not to treat?

No, the consultation is charged for the doctor's assessment and advice. You naturally pay nothing for a treatment that was not carried out.
