Aftercare
The first 48 hours after your treatment
In brief
The first day: no sport, no sauna, do not rub the treated area, and do not lie flat during the first four hours. A small bump or a bruise is normal and settles. Get in touch if pain increases, if you develop a fever, or if an eyelid droops.
The first four hours
Stay upright, do not lie flat and avoid bending forward for long periods. The reasoning is simple: the product should stay where it was placed rather than spreading to neighbouring muscles.
Do not touch the treated area and do not massage over it. No facial massage either, no tight hat or headband, and no make-up during the first few hours.
The first day
- No intensive sport, no sauna, no steam room and no sunbed.
- No alcohol in any quantity; it increases the chance of bruising.
- Working, shopping and showering are all fine.
- Gentle facial movement is fine. You do not need to keep your face still.
What is normal
Small red bumps at the injection sites that settle within an hour. A bruise that changes colour and disappears over a few days. A mild headache on the first day. A feeling of heaviness or tightness in the forehead during the first week, which passes as the effect settles.
Also normal: the feeling that nothing is happening yet. The effect only begins after three to seven days.
When to get in touch
- Increasing pain, redness or warmth around the injection site after the first day.
- Fever.
- A drooping eyelid or a clearly asymmetrical result.
- Difficulty swallowing, speaking or breathing. This is rare and calls for immediate medical assessment.
Your doctor is reachable through the app. If in doubt, she will take a look the same day. Aftercare is included in the treatment; there is no extra charge.
Frequently asked questions
May I exercise after a wrinkle treatment?
Wait 24 hours before intensive exertion. A walk or a gentle cycle ride is fine.
I have a bruise. Is that a problem?
No. A bruise appears when a small blood vessel is touched and disappears within a few days. You may cover it with make-up from the following day.
When will I see the final result?
After about two weeks. That is also when we check and touch up if needed, which is included in the price.
